My great grandparents
Annie M. Witz migrated from Ireland in 1889. The story I heard as a child is that she came from Cork. She graduated from Trinity College and then emigrated. I still have not been able to confirm that fact. Annie and Adolph married in 1894. They lived in Westchester County New York.

I just found on Heritage Request...an Annie McGreery from Hastings on the Hudson who was a cook it indicates that this person arrived in 1887. (1900 Census; roll T623, Roll 1175, page 4) I'll have to continue to research...
I found my great grandfather Adolph. In the 1880 Census he was 9 years old. His father was Adolph Witz, a cigar maker. Adolph Jr., was born in New York, Stutgart. (Census 1880,Series T9, Roll 879, page 656)
